No prior experience in performing peripheral nerve blocks or ultrasound guided blocks is necessary. Emphasis will be on practical scanning, how to recognize relevant anatomy, tips and tricks, plus discussion on the essence of establishing successful and safe blocks while de-emphasizing a multitude of technique variations. Each participant will have ample opportunity to train and perform scanning for each block on live models under the guidance of the instructors. The following blocks will be demonstrated and trained: Interscalene block and cervical plexus ♦ Supraclavicular block and the supraclavicular nerve ♦ Infraclavicular block and PECS ♦ Axillary block and peripheral rescue nerve blocks ♦ Sciatic, popliteal nerve block and ankle block ♦ Femoral nerve block and the saphenous nerve.
Offering 4 hours in the state-of-the-art Medical Simulation Unit (MSU) at the University Medical Center in Ljubljaba. Limited to 12 participants only to ensure your quality of experience. The following scenarios will be covered: LAST ♦ Total spinal anesthesia ♦ Nervus phrenicus paresis ♦ Horner syndrome.
